An eye cream differs from a face cream in concentration and texture: the skin around the eyes is thinner and reacts to strong actives faster, so products made for it are gentler but more targeted. A face cream used around the eyes can cause puffiness or stinging.

How to choose an eye cream:

• Wrinkles – peptides, retinal formulated for the eye area, growth factors.
• Puffiness – caffeine, a light gel cream, a cooling application.
• Dark circles – vitamin C and light-diffusing pigments.
• Dryness – ceramides, shea butter, a richer texture for the evening.

A rice-grain amount is enough for both eyes: apply it along the orbital bone rather than the eyelid and pat gently until absorbed.
